After you leave your employer
After leaving your employer, you will lose your eligibility for membership in the Health Insurance Society and must join the appropriate medical care insurance program based on your individual circumstances.
- Returning health insurance cards or Eligibility Verification Certificate
- Joining the Voluntarily and Continuously Insured Persons Medical Care System
- Joining the Special-Case Retired Persons Medical Care System
- If you want a certificate to join National Health Insurance or another insurance plan

Others | If a former member of the Hitachi Health Insurance Society undergoes examination or treatment at a medical care institution or other such facility on or after the date of loss of eligibility (i.e., the day after the date of separation) as a Society member, the former insured person will be billed for the portion paid by the Society as unqualified examination or treatment costs. Promptly return all health insurance cards or Eligibility Verification Certificates after loss of eligibility to prevent unintended use. |
