The insured person died while a dependent was being treated on an outpatient basis. Can the dependent continue to use his or her health insurance card or Eligibility Verification Certificate?

Dependents’ Medical Care Expenses under health insurance are paid to the insured person him or herself. If the insured person dies, no person to whom the benefits can be paid exists.

Hitachi Health Insurance status is invalid, starting on the day after the date of death. Please return the health insurance card or Eligibility Verification Certificate promptly to the Health Insurance Society (and join the National Health Insurance system or another health insurance).
