Payment of the Injury and Sickness Allowance begins on the fourth day off work (following the waiting period of three consecutive days) when taking off work for a continuous period of four or more days because you are unable to work due to an illness or injury. The waiting period may include weekends, holidays, and paid leave days if you were unable to work on those days to receive treatment for the illness or injury. In your case, since the initial continuous period of one week of paid leave includes the three-day waiting period, you will be paid the Injury and Sickness Allowance starting on the first day on which you are not paid your salary due to your absence from work.
