As with medical care benefits for the insured person, there are no restrictions on the timing at which a dependent incurred an illness or injury. Medical care expenses, even for preexisting illnesses or injuries suffered by a dependent before the insured person became eligible for insurance, are covered from the day he or she is certified as a dependent.
