I was treated by a massage therapist for severe stiff shoulders due to fatigue from work. Am I eligible to receive benefits for medical care expenses for this treatment?
Treatment by a massage therapist (traditional massage or finger pressure) is covered as medical care expenses only when intended to treat an illness or injury that has failed to improve despite examination at a medical care institution, conducted with the consent of a physician, and recognized as necessary by the Health Insurance Society. Your case does not meet these conditions; thus, you are not eligible for the benefits.
